LOL.
I no longer waste my time on Don King and Boxing. That is definitely a scam.
Yeah, you missed Frings in that game. From hearing the whole story it sounds like the controversy that resulted in him getting banned was initiated by the German media doing a Sun on the Italians.
You dont want to pick up our bad habits they wont get you anywhere!
Now Karl-Heinz, you are all over the map. You know that Juergen is going back to Cali. And you think he cares what Beckenbauer says about him publicly AFTER the tournament?
His wife is going to say, "Juergen, great job, now let's go home. And Team USA will let you create and motivate and build what you want without all the nonsense about you, me and the family."
He's gone dude.
But you have a good core of players with great expereince together. So be happy about that.
Oh yeah, we're taking our American trainers with him. :)
(If Juergen were staying, he'd already have said so.)
Exactly. If Klinsmann gets the USA to the Final 4, he's a God. In Germany, that would be labelled a huge disappointment. And even if he fails in the US, few here will even bother to notice anyway.
Oh we'll notice but no matter what he does, he improves the program's quality, its professionalism and incorporates the best elements and players possible.
If he gets us to a semi, we'll we will just have to make him Govenor of California.
(It's been done before.)
:)
I noticed that one of the German cheats was suspended. However, not all the culprits were rounded up. It was satisfying that the Krauts got turned over by the Italians after they did their usual trick of trying to play out the match to get to penalties.
Serves the sausage eaters right!

It was unsettling to lose Rooney, and play 10 men too.
I don't know when the decision to toss him was made, but the antics after the foul (shoving, pushing), before the card, were exceedingly foolish and totally avoidable.
I guess Juergen is taking a hike...
But I cannot imagine he's going to train the US guys. Why should he step down in his career ? (Sorry guys - beeing a trainer is a tough job and you're easily spoiled - he's already been one step further - the german job was something special and exceptional for him)
He's a sports consultant - already did some class A job for e.g. a mayor sports ware company. That's what he's supposed to do if he's got his braincells sorted out.
He can have it all - go to the beach without beeing proded all the time - pick the projects that are spun to him and have an easy and wealthy life with his family.
Or he could try and give it a shot in 2010. It's all there: money - players - tamed critics - more money - a team he likes to be with - the possibility to inherite the throne of Franz Beckenbauer - and the chance to jeopardize his football god state he's earned - a bitch of a press and the ol' farts that now it all better.
I wouldn't do it, if I was him.
... a 'trick' some would like to learn. Certainly after learning the trick of performing second class and still earn first class money and credits.
