ABC, SeeBS, NBC, CNN, etc. make up stories all the time.

Might as well instruct others to do the same.

;-)

A daytime gabfest for housewives and the unemployed isn't quite the same as network news. Allowing an unwanted colleague the opportunity to save face doesn't strike me as a major sin.

Now she acknowledges how obnoxious she had come to be seen by her network, and at the same time throws dirt on Walters and the network. I can't see how playing the loose cannon will encourage future potential employers to queue up. Perhaps she and Dan Rather can co-host somewhere.

So now Star thinks she can salvage her career by turning whistleblower.

She'll have about the same success as Connie Chung when she turned chanteuse.

Or Dan Rather when he turned typesetting expert.

June has turned out to be one heck of a schadenfreudefesten.

they dumped Ms. Jones in order to hire the mouthy bull dyke ?
Amazing....10 to 1 , she will dominate the entire program in no time , causing all the other women to run .
ABC is subjecting it's viewers to an assault of flaming anti-Bush hatred , anti-gun , anti anything red blooded American male. Watch the ratings tank (except among the lib dyke community)

"They said you can make up a story," Reynolds said. "The audience didn't deserve for me to make up a story. That's not fair."

ABC Is BUSTED! Can't Be Trusted!

To me, this just rips the veil of professionalism and respectability that the dino-media has bestowed on Barbara Walters for hanging around so long. She's revealed herself to be an egomaniacal, self-centered, cold-hearted witch.

Here's the ironic part: Bryant Gumbel's name became synonymous with being an arrogant jerk after Jane Pauley's departure from the Today show back in the '80s, when Deborah Norville was all but promoted to co-anchor. Some divined the idea that Gumbel was encouraging NBC to push Pauley out the door, although there was never any evidence it was true. Eventually, Norville, vilified as a bubblehead and sneered at for replacing the beloved Pauley, tired of the pressure, and became host of Inside Edition, replacing Bill O'Reilly. Replacing Norville was...Katie Couric. We know how that's ended.

Everybody got that?

Now...what was I saying? Oh, yeah -- Bryant Gumbel got blamed for stabbing Pauley in the back even though he didn't do it. But Baba Wawa -- who announced on national TV that Rosie O'Donnell, who took shots at Star previously, would be joining The Coven...er, View, DID stab Star in the back, is making it crystal clear that she stabbed Star in the back, and that Star should have known her place and shouldn't have acted like she didn't have it coming. That's arrogance Gumbel could only dream of.

Am I taking Star's side? Not really. I don't know enough about her to have an opinion about her either way. I can count on my fingers the number of times I have seen The View, and was shocked that it's been going on for almost a decade.

Ousted cast member Star Jones Reynolds said Thursday she was told she could "make up a story" about why she was leaving "The View" and her colleagues would have gone along with it.

Just say you were fired and go back to oblivion where you belong.

I must be out of it, The only place I have heard of Star Jones is here on FR.
I guess he is on some talk or comedy show.

Walters told The Associated Press that she felt betrayed and ABC said it couldn't trust Reynolds to tell the truth if she remained on the air.

This is the kind of thing that is widely assumed but is still startling to see in print. She can't be trusted to lie (on cue), therefore she can't be trusted to tell the truth??? Amazing! Brazen.

Then why don't they fire Terry "Sweet Lips" Moran?
