I think a lot more calls should be no calls.

He probably was fouled, but he helped it and overacted.

The ref probably should just have let play gone on. No cards. But, tell Maxi to stop playacting and play like a man.

Just check the posting history. He's a trash-talking homer (in this case, for team Italy). There's always at least one on every sports thread.

Given your great insights on the world's game, offers little credence here.

Nice grammar, Guido.

Not enough for a penalty, agreed. I wouldn't say he overdid the foul as it was a foul. But it wasn't enough to make such a drastic call for a penalty.

Besides, Maxi had the best goal of the tournament.

What was the almost-fight about after the Arg-Ger game? I saw the ending on ESPN Classic but they didn't know what the problem was on the field.

Nice update on the NFL. We're looking forward to more as it's just so applicable.
Still waiting for anything on the football we're discussing on here.
My name is not guido pal.

It's nice to see pictures of sports fans without seeing a stupid Yankees hat. :)

OK. And I am predicting a win for Germany over Italy. The Germans have won three cups, been runners-up four times, and fourth once. I like their chances at home.

Only YOU have mentioned the NFL.

You can be a "homer: without being an a**hole. I guess he feels that he has to add the gratuitous insult in order to get a response.

Predictions have been discussed on all the matches. I go with the matches ahead and see how it unfolds.

Klinsman has done a good job. I think he's at the end of his run. If you go back to yesterday's thread, you'll see some discussion on Brazil and their potential problems with France today along.

But as someone foolishly claimed, I didn't trash talk about Italy yesterday or earlier. I actually rooted for Shevchenko to make the cinderella run one more time.

England is the prediction against the undermanned Portugal today.

I am not guido and this is the last time I'm going to tell you. Do you have anything to offer in the way of insights into the world's football?

We're just dying to see it.

Actually I had dinner in the new fish restaurant in Duesseldorf Hafen on Wednesday night and dinner facing the Rhine in Cologne Thursday night. Very nice as you say, and the weather was perfect.

Judfing from the business discussions I had, not a lot of work is being done in Germany. Everyone is always talking about the WM.

The only thing that pleased Germans as much as their own team's success is the elimination of Holland.

Lies, simply lies! We´ve plenty of beer, there´s no shortage, although the Brits wished they were in at least one competition better than us. :-)
