It depends... if she crates the pup, they do OK as long as they can see you.
That didn't work the first few nights with the dachshunds or my brother's Golden...they still put up a fuss until they'd gotten used to the idea.
I think I put Gidget in the little cat crate in the bed with me... she was OK if I had my fingers on the grill.
One of my brothers was like that as a baby... would only sleep if you were holding his hand...
Wow, that pic came out awfully big...

No they won't sting. They're teeeeeny tiny.
I wrote a short story about those things once. Maybe I'll post a link to it tonight.
I can't take credit for the photography, but the one we have here looks just like it. We'll be watching it with the kids.

So that's where puffed rice comes from!
Mornin'.
Corin - you let her dance with Patrick Swayze? LOL! Pics of that I've ~got~ to see!
I managed to take some pictures of our adventures in Seattle yesterday. I'll get them posted later.
We went to the Seattle Center and had a great time. :-D
If only you knew someone nearby with a boat and motor, and some fishing poles. :-)
Uh, what is THAT?
If only :~)
Good morning :~)
Stands behind SuziQ...
Did you get stranded on the monorail? We like to strand tourists on the Seattle Monorail :~)
I have no idea what that is...
Not exactly beauty contest material, is it?
That is a tobacco horn worm.
It has predatory wasp eggs on it.
IOW, it's toast.
Good morning!
Well, I suggested we splurge on the gas and go. I said if our car broke down, we could now call AAA from the cell phone.
So we literally threw all we needed in the car and took off. Spent a lovely day leaping off that concrete bridge into icy-cold water. It was at least 12 feet deep at the bridge and tapered down to 1' deep gentle rapids on either side.
It was a blast.
Nope.
Fortunately, I am being treated with a bit more respect since I intend to ~stay~ in WA State. ;-)
Now... for those not familiar with the area, Edwards has been Sheriff here since 1986. He's very popular, and rarely had much of a challenge. But the sheer volume of campaign activity by Kimball led me to wonder if perhaps Edwards was either getting too complacent, or retiring. Sure enough, he's retiring. I don't read the local newspaper enough to know what's going on anymore!
I found an article here from last year... Will he run for office or not? that has some interesting quotes in it.
He'd like to retire, he said. But he wants to ensure the sheriff's office is in capable hands if he does. So, he's holding out until he's certain those vying to replace him are qualified, he said. "If I thought that a person was going to get into this office that I didn't think would be good for this office, you're darn right I'd run. No question about it," Edwards said. But few in the sheriff's office or outside the agency expect Edwards to run. Some speculate he's strategizing ways to influence the election or is just having fun.
"I don't think anyone in the sheriff's office believes he is going to run," said Deputy Dave Odegaard, president of the Thurston County Deputy Sheriffs Association. "If something happened to Dan (Kimball), Gary might throw his hat back in. But absent anything major like that, I don't think anyone in our association believes that Gary is going to be running for another term."
While Kimball won't comment on what he thinks the sheriff will do, he has made it clear that he's not campaigning against his boss.
"I'm running for the office of sheriff, not against the sheriff," he said.
And... on the Dan Kimball for Sheriff page, is Edwards' endorsement of him: "Sheriff Gary Edwards says: "Dan is the best man to replace me as Sheriff. I have known him for 20 years and he really cares about the citizens of Thurston County. I support him 100%."
So... there's that.
FWIW, Kimball is the first cop interviewed at any crime scene in Olympia, and has been for years. He's the Chief of Criminal Investigations and has been at the dept since 1983.
Edwards endorses his deputy as he announces retirement plans
There is a GOP candidate... (Howard Thronson for Thurston County Sheriff) but it looks to me like Kimball's got it in the bag.
So, there's that.
