Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Then world behind and home ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

A very appropriate title for a new thread, with Ruthy and Ramius moving to their new home today :~)

Ping to new thread! Didn't have time to make an appropriate new graphic, perhaps someone else with time and creativity can make us a traveling to new home by air graphic :~)
To: HairOfTheDog; RMDupree
Great title!!
Welcome home, Ruthy!

Sometimes the lines in the verse we've been using for titles are very appropriately timed :~)
I am hoping to time "And then to bed! And then to bed!" For sometime in September :~)
To: HairOfTheDog
Oh dear...
Though I admit, it had occurred to me that it would be good timing...

Well, last thread was the thread Steve graduated...wonder what new things will happen during this thread?
Steve applied for two Environmental Scientist positions in Houston this morning...

Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't get too excited about the ~unknown~.

Ah, but what about ~Posibilities~?
Thread before last was Rosie's move, wasn't it?
Seems like something big happens every thread. Maybe XGI will get engaged this thread??
Ah, the ~Possibilities~!

I can see your point...the ~Possibility~ that your house might be washed away during the upcoming hurricane season isn't too intriguing...
heh heh heh!

The little squirrel is still alive though not conscious, and I think just in shock. He felt cold, but I'll be danged if he doesn't still have a heartbeat. I covered him up, thinking warm is better, but really, I think he's gonna die. I still see no visible injuries. If it's just shock, can he recover?
To: Corin Stormhands
Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't get too excited about the ~unknown~. Becoming a Calvinist? :~D
To: HairOfTheDog
I would think so...raise his hind legs up slightly. Seriously, prop them up on a little cushion or a rolled up hand towel or something...

He's laying on his stomach now...
To: HairOfTheDog
Well, I guess you gotta roll him on his side and prop up his back half. That's all you can do for emotional shock. If it's shock due to internal bleeding, it might help but it'll die anyway.
Did the cat shake it? It could have "Shaken Baby" syndrome of sorts...brains rattled in it's head to the point of coma but not death. In which case the brain will eventually herniate and that will be that.

I don't think I'm on the ping list anymore. Hmm. Does that make me a dwarf for inviting myself? LOL!
