Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Then world behind and home ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Gorgeous photos!
I was going to go to the library before it got too hot, post my BA CHEF newsletter and then drop the disp. cameras off at Walmart to be processed. When I went to back out of the garage, I got the feeling my car wasn't working well! Wouldn't go! Got about half way out of the garage and realized my car was definitely listing to one side! I had a complete flat! Heh heh!
Flats I can handle. Or rather Steve can, when he gets home.

I thought of it...and it I had some place I really needed to go, I'd call 'em. But by the time they got it all fixed, it'd likely be too hot for me to go and I don't really have to go anyway.
I emailed the newsletter to a friend to convert to Word for me...that's all I needed. I can convert to Word, but can't edit and when I convert it, it screws it up a bit and needs editing! I can do it at the library, 'cause they have Word.
I only have Works.

I've had that same problem but thankfully this computer has Word on it.
Works only succeeded in frustrating me, so I was glad when it went bye-bye.

I downloaded the whole Office thing for a 90 day trial when Steve was dealing with the thesis stuff...it's expired and now my Wordpad won't even work (which came with my computer!) Argh.
Oh well, someday I'll pay for it...it's about $100 for the whole thing, (educational use).

Oh - yeah I did, and couldn't bring myself to answer because I don't want to take a stand! I keep putting it off!
Jen... We've thought about it and talked about it, and I just don't think we can make it to the wedding.
I do wish we could, but it's just not a good time to be spending money on traveling. We wish you the best, and we will send Corin as our representative, he'd better take a lot of pictures :~)

Well, I don't know if you can make it sound like a gift, but you'd BETTER have a good camera with you at the wedding.

Speaking of needing a camera. I should've had one when I was packing up at thebeachhouse Saturday. I left my shaving kit hanging in the outdoor shower. I noticed some spider webs around it when I went to get it.
I had it out on the counter and was putting stuff back in and Shelob crawls out. It was a black widow ~at least~ an inch and a half long. I brushed her off and she crawled under the house.
When she came back out I splatted her with one of Luke's sand shovels...

30 minutes...you've got about 30 minutes if it bites Luke. If a BW bit Joshua, I'd call 911.
Adults get flu-like symptoms. I'd probably have a heart attack.
We used to have a lot of 'em before the chickens...I only saw a couple that big though. Mostly they were small, like the size of a plain house spider. I kept one, it's preserved in alcohol. The other I turned to paste.
