Well part of the point of that whole discussion is Dumbledore explaining to Harry that prophecies get fulfilled because of the people in the prophecies. Harry might not have been the chosen one but because Voldemort decided Harry is the chosen one, and acted upon that, and to a lesser degree because Harry himself has chosen to act as the chosen one taking on the fight against Voldemort, it caused Harry to be the chosen one. It's all very Greek, the reason Paris brought the destruction of Troy is because Paris' mother had a prophetic dream and his father attempted to circumvent it, which eventually put Paris in a position to award the apple, abduct Helen, and start the Trojan War. Had Priam not acted to circumvent the prophecy he would have circumvented the prophecy, most of the Oracle of Delphi stories have the same structure. Neville could probably have been the chosen one, but Voldemort decided it was Harry, and therefore it is Harry, though Neville could still take part, it's already been established loyalty and love are things Voldemort doesn't understand and is weak against and that Neville is extremely loyal.
It's my guess that Voldy and Dumbledore and the rest are wrong, and that the 'chosen one' is, in fact, Neville.
But then again, I think the Cowboys will be in the Superbowl this year . . . :-)
