"Is this a bad time to mention that my Darling Daughter starts at UCSC this fall?"
I hope you don't think I was being too cruel.
But UC Santa Cruz is thought of as a nutty place even at UCLA.
As you are a freeper, you've probably done what you can to immunize your
daughter for a journey through US-SC. Students can go off the rails (or thrive)
anyplace...even the most conservative church-affiliated colleges.
BUT...maybe here's someone to follow: Ben Stein even did a teaching stint at UC-SC,
and ended up at Pepperdine U., the conservative (for the West Coast)
university affiliated with the mainstream Churches of Christ.
Stein even taught an undergraduate class at Pepperdine that one of my cousins took
about 15 years ago and she really liked him.

I hope you don't think I was being too cruel. Not at all!
I've done what I can to immunize her, time will tell if it suffices.

We're pretty proud of her. She was accepted at San Fransisco State, UC Merced, UC Santa Barbara, and UCSC.
UCSC is closest...

A $600,000 upgrade to Denton's university-owned residence included
a $30,000 enclosure for her dogs, which she requested during contract negotiations.
I think an examination of the negotiators would also be in order...
Actually I'm suprised that there's no mention of antique Italian commodes.
That was an item that appeared on the list of another professorial
big-wig that got disgraces...and in Rep. Cunningham's pile of loot as well.
Why antique Italian commodes are big with corrupt big-shots, I can't figure out.

That was part of a theory of one of the docs I used to work with.
Getting emotionally stuck in the pre adolescent years: an age when we generally prefer our own sex.

Denton took the job in the midst of a multi-year process to update
the university's long-range growth plan, which could bring 6,000 more
students to the campus. She repeatedly defended the plan when it was
challenged by city leaders, residents, faculty and staff.
Wow! The liberals of Santa Cruz and EVEN the university are
NIMBYs on growing the school!
These folks are truly nuts. Even the most liberal faculty member I've
ever met was always happy when their university was growing and ensuring
job security for more socialist fellow-travelers.
If she'd proposed building a nuclear plant to power the city and school...
the place would have been destroyed by liberals having their heads self-explode!

The crater could either be filled in, or be used as a swimming pool. Thats unnecessary, the women is dead and at one time we were all somebodies baby.

Wow. She must've been quite a conservative to want to save the taxpayers all that money that would've been spent on the indictment, a trial, and her subsequent incarceration. Impressive.
