BALTIMORE -- A federal judge sentenced a former Baltimore police officer to 139 years in prison for robbing drug dealers and selling the drugs himself.
Antonio Murray was a 14-year veteran of the force. He apologized to his family and told U.S. District Judge J. Frederick Motz that life as a police officer on the streets of Baltimore induced him to engage in policies that got him in trouble.

You know, a gal I knew dated a guy that admitted to having committed close to 100 armed robberies. He told me he gave it up, because he was tired of looking over his shoulder. Why, you ask? Because he was robbing drug dealers.
After being around him a few times, I believed it. Not surprisingly, he turned out to be the kind that beat up women.
By the time I found out about the abuse, I had moved up to better acquaintances.
I look back now, and I can't believe some of the people I hung around with or met.
Similarly, back in my just-out-of-college days I knew a woman (a friend of a friend) who was dating a drug dealer in Baltimore, where she lived. I just couldn't believe how many women wanted to date this guy. I guess the Bad Boy image (real or not) has it's perks! At least until you end up in jail - then it's no more women, rather, soap on a rope time...
They're going to be reallll popular in prison! /sarc
He wouldn't be if it were up to the judge. The rest of the story (bold emphasis on text mine)...
The judge condemned Murray's crimes and the impact they had his victims and fellow officers. He also had strong words for the federal sentencing rules that required him to give the former officer what is essentially a life sentence, one that Motz called "grossly disproportionate" for the offenses.
Murray was convicted with another former police officer, William King, in April. Motz sentenced King to 315 years in prison last week.
Make it 141...
139 years? He should have received a "Police Discount" and receive 138 years.
The other one got 315 years...
