Choice of what to do in Chicago explains difference between conservatives and liberals

Posted on 06/24/2006 9:14:08 AM PDT by ashamedtobefromparkridge

Helped plan 2 different Chicago excursions for the coming months.

One was a liberal group that I am a member of. The subject is not politics but the majority of people are liberals due to the subject matter.

One was a primary conservative group.

The liberals top things they wanted to do?

Jerry Springer Oprah Winfrey Gay Games (actually this is when they are coming in. No problem with the gay games. Maybe when they have the closing ceremonies at Wrigley they'll find some talent)

The conservatives:

Field of Museum King Tut exhibit The play Wicked A Cubs game

Says it all. They'd rather see Springer of course a democratic politican who has had vote rallies for dems before and after his shows and see shows like "My mother is in love with my boyfriend and sleeps with him and his dog Fluffy"

The conservatives want to see King Tut, the Cubs and a great play.

Conservatives are smarter AND have more fun. Definitely.

Other than Hillary, how far left is Park Ridge? I was under the impression it wasn't too bad, certainly not in the category of Evanston or Park Forest.

Park Ridge is actually pretty conservative. Went for Bush in 00 and 04 and Dole in 96, HW Bush in 92 and 88 etc.

What's truly scary is I have found out that my brother was babysat by Hillary a couple of times when he was a small baby over her christmas vacation from college. No wonder he is a little odd.

My mom actually knew her parents and said they were nice people.

Right now if I look to the left of my computer on my wall is a copy of a framed thank you note for all the work done on his presidential campaign to my mom and my grandparents from one Ronald Wilson Reagan.

We're such Reaganites in my family that I seriously considered the middle name Reagan for my daughter but my beloved aunt passed away right before her birth and I decided to name her after her instead.

By the way I'm a relative newby. Is there a standard way here of referring to George HW Bush and George W Bush to make it clear which one you are referring to?

Still kicking myself over just missing meeting them in 1998. Was in Houston and went to see Cubs vs. Astros. Friend worked for the Astros and took me down to the box they had been in with their wives. They had just left.
