She knew. It was the son.. the dilemma of losing one child and the agony of knowing the other one did it, and not being able to resolve it.

And the secret goes with her. I think she knew. I agree. I don't think she took part in it, but I think she spent these last years of her life with full knowledge of who did it. It had to be someone close for her to keep it such a secret.
