A great two week mini-season. Saturday its onto the playoffs. Team USA will be lucky to make to the Round Of 16. I don't see them making it to Berlin next month.

Go USA! I hope USA goes through and the cheating Italians are thrashed by the Czechs.

The problem I have with Soccer (football) is all the flopping and acting. I've never seen a sport where guys get carried off the field on a stretcher, and two minutes later they are ready to go back in the game. You get carried off the field on a stretcher in American football, and chances you are done for the season.

That aside, I do enjoy watching Soccer once every four years in the World Cup competition.

Both strikers that scored for Ghana against the Czechs are out of the game today because of yellow cards.

USA has a great opportunity. We start scoring goals and Ghana can't answer back, panics and falls to pieces.

4-0 for USA is not unrealistic because we have the talent and are due.

Two goals in the first half. Two goals in the second.

GO USA GO GO GO BABY GO!!!

Hey, anyone else notice that one of the German players is from Ghana?
Chap by the name of Asamoah.
4 years ago, there was another player from Ghana in the German team too.
Interesting.

That should have been a foul not a goal. And the two yellow cards we got were bogus. Basically they are giving us yellow cards just for being on the field. One for having an arm attached to the body, when the ball obviously could not be avoided. And another for not being able to disappear into thin air when standing in defense. Meanwhile Ghana gets a whistle and no flag for hacking our guy.

USA always has to beat more then just the other team on the field. It can still be done!

Ref handed Ghana the opportunity.

Replay of the 'infraction' didn't show anything that warranted a goal shot penalty.

Team USA is being double-teamed by Ghana and Ref.

Very touching interview with McBride. Right at the end he said "I've enjoyed it" and then started to break down, realizing no doubt that it's near the end of his career, and this is almost certainly his last world cup.

I remember when he was substituted into his first game for the national team...wondering how success in the MLS would translate to performance on the international stage. He's been a great asset to the team and it's going to be sad to see him go.
