I own and run my pest control company and I am sick and tired of non-english speaking Mexicans calling my business and expecting me to provide a translator. I am considering having "No Hable Espanol" printed on my new business cards. What do the Freepers think about it? Will this hurt my business?

If not, someone is sure to sue you. But if you can't afford a translator, I suggest you get it right: "No hablo Espanol" (I don't speak Spanish) or ","No se habla Espanol" (Spanish not spoken).
Good luck.

A lot of Hispanics do speak English. They just front like they don't.
I would take it on a case-by-case basis. If there's a potential customer who truly doesn't speak English, then there's no need to accomodate that person.

This gets interesting because all I want to convey is that I don't understand spanish.I want to do it without protest but you say the protest is good?Which is really interesting because you simply want to state a fact, but the terminally PC-infected will insist it is a political statement.
I speak Spanish and French fluently, but I prefer to do my business, in my home country, in English and I would never hire anyone who insisted on speaking to me in another language.

Instead try, "Lo siento. No hablo espanol." (And my spanish is very rusty, so I'd double check that.) It'll convey a different tone than just saying that you don't speak spanish.

"It wasn't the Hispanics who voted against Prop 187 in California in mass, it was Anglo liberal women. (Which is why it passed.)"I'm sorry, kingu, but you're wrong. It passed, and I'm an Anglo woman. I worked in court in El Monte at the time, and the Hispanics were in the street protesting the passing of Prop. 187. CA Supreme Court overturned it.
Check your data before you post trash.

Exit polls put the largest group that voted against Prop 187 was Anglo liberal women, widely reported at the time, and probably easy to find today. Prop 187 passed by just under 60%. It was not overturned by the California Supreme Court, but instead was put under injunction by a federal judge, Gray Davis refused to continue the appeals process.
As for the protests, that was mostly students and agitators, and it ultimately meant nothing, but it was one of the biggest citations as to why people voted against it - they were afraid of the reaction, but not enough to kill the proposition.
As for data to be checked, it might help if you actually read what is quoted before hitting the reply button. I indeed said 'Anglo liberal women' not just 'Anglo women.'

You own a business and are asking us if it's a good idea to piss off some of your customers for no good reason? I suspect you are in more trouble than this question will answer ...........
