I Just Saw the Coolest Thing (But Loose Lips Sink Ships)
My own eyes | 6/21/2006 | By Laz

Posted on 06/21/2006 11:02:00 AM PDT by Lazamataz

I just saw what (I believe to be) is the coolest thing I have ever seen.

But because we are at War, I won't compromise our security by sharing it -- TODAY.

Watch this space tomorrow and I will share with you all what I saw.

It was too cool by half.

That's the thing. I wouldn't have been too impressed with one of the AFO lookalikes (or replacements) alone, but when I saw two craft escorting and one chasing, I was a lot more impressed.

"I was playing golf near Dayton in the summer of 2003. Air Force One (I'll call it that for simplicity and recognition even though it's not officially that unless the prez is on board) was doing touch and goes at Wright Patt and was circling over the course on each loop."

I might have been in the group behind you! I played those courses many time in the summer of '03. I was also a member of Wright-Patt's aeroclub, and my favorite moment was waiting perpendicular to the runway to take off when the NAOC (E-4B) landed right in front of me. I thought it was Air Force One and flipped out until I realized it didn't have the seal.

FYI, I am moving out of Texas next month to accept a job at Wright-Patterson. If you also work there and apparently enjoy golfing, maybe we can hit a few balls!

Don't the DUmmies think that the Prez has had OBL under wraps for a few years... waiting for the right moment to parade him out?

If your "SLICED BREAD" has a Presidential Seal, I'll salute it.

*IF* 'feinswinesuksass' is your REAL name. I have my doubts.

Yes, I have, and yes, you are right. Bravo for trolling a simple arithmetical mistake made while quickly posting.

Thanks for the sneer and yes, I'm sure you're a mathematical genius who never makes any simple mistakes. I am truly in awe of you. Truly. Gwarsh, wish I could give you flowers for your totally AWESOME eye for detail. What's it like to be perfect? I bet it is cool. Is it cool? I bet you get all the chicks. Do you get all the chicks, or do you just get a chubby from trolling?

Ahh, I left too much out of the story in the interest of brevity. I was actually playing Beavercreek Country Club, a Fuzzy Zoeller course. It's actually about 10 miles as the crow...errr...747 flies from the Air Force base. I'm actually a denizen of Columbus and me and my buds wanted to try the course out.

On an ancillary topic, I did learn the game about 30 years ago as a kid from an Air Force Colonel and got to play the Rickenbacker AFB (in south Columbus) course when it was strictly for military personnel. In those days, T-38 trainers were in the air constantly.

I would consider this thread completely hijacked, by the way. Thanks Laz!

Wait, I was far too quick to accept the troll's criticism. Let's see. 1999 - 2006. Hmm. Isn't that 7 years? Why, yes, it is! I am far too sensitive to criticism, I guess.

You're one of those that looks up in the sky, and points at nothing, trying to get others to look and point, too, so you can slink away laughing. Aren't you? Admit it! :-)

Yeah, but it's 49 in dog-years.
