I criticized the heck out of Ann's statements in that moment in time here on FR because I had trust in the President and figured if he made this nomination, he must know what he is doing.
I thought it was risky to have all this divisiveness within the conservative circles at that time.
I am glad for the outcome though, because the more I heard about Myers, the more I didn't get the reason for the nomination. I didn't think that was a fight worth having at that time. I think those wanting Myers out before I did were right and I was wrong for a while. I started out on the wrong side of that issue.

OK, so I'll put you down in the "we have permission to criticize Ann" column. Good to know!
As for Miers, we will never know if she was the wrong nominee or not because she never got a chance to be heard before the Senate. Clearly, my fears that this would make it harder for the next nominee to get through the process were unfounded and I am relieved about that.
