OK gang. Time to put the old iconoclastic part of the old thinker to work.
Yeah, I have enjoyed Ann's acidic barbs and laughed out loud at some of her more outrageous pronouncements over the years - though frankly, her act is getting a bit old with me - but that is not what this vanity is about.
I suspect that we are all secretly aware that her public persona displays more than a little evidence of exhibitionism and narcissism....the woman clearly has some personality issues. I personally think that she likely has a low sense of self-worth, which her public persona would appear to compensate for....
I would like to hear opinions on this topic from any FReepers who are psychologists or psychiatrists.
Oh, and in case some of you didn't get it, I'll repeat myself:
THIS VANITY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MS. COULTER'S POLITICAL VIEWS. It is meant to provoke some thought about her method of promoting them (and herself).
I suspect that few Freepers would want their daughters to behave as Ms. Coulter does - both in terms of her outrageous rudeness and her never-married lifestyle.
She's unapologetic. In this case unapologetically conservative. I'm not aware of that being a mental disorder.
She is also unapologetically feminine in her dress.
Perhaps you feel threatened by strong women ;-)
Of course you do, because, as a THINKING man you realize that those ideals have been the bedrock of every civilization since the beginning of recorded history.
So even an atheist (I'm not saying you're one, I don't know nor do I care) who is intellectually honest would share your sentiment above...
Well put.
You want a list of attack dogs from the left?
George Carlin, Lewis Black, Letterman, Garofolo, Jon Stewart -- And that's just the start of it.
Are we gonna do psychological profiles of each of them?
Sounds like by your definition
any
successful, forceful, articulate, energetic, confident etc. sort of CONSERVATIVE would be
pathological.
I'm beginning to think you might consider taking your mirror in for a tune up.
I think Ann Coulter would benefit from reading George Washington's Rules of Civility and Decent Behavior.
Well, to answer in order:
a. I am from a different planet than the one that liberals come from; AND (sadly)I also appear to be from a different planet than the one that women come from (or at least that's what I inferred from their behavior ;>)
b. I know that Mods around here tend to be very nervous about some things, and frankly I did not know how they would react to someone being even mildly critical of Ann, who is just-short-of being worshipped by some folks around here....
6 to 16
I don't in the least consider wishing ill on satan and his rather directly manipulated stooges to be
wrong, poor, unAmerican, pathological, . . . a list of things.
Evil is evil. More power to folks with the cajones to point that out.
Hmmm... looks like we're learning more about you than Ann.
And as to your repeated question -- would I like my daughter to behave like that?
[1] I have 4 daughters, and I'd like them to behave like themselves. One is pretty close {the one with the degrees in history}, two, not at all {the two that work in medicine}, and one somewhere in the middle {the home-schooling mom.}
[2] Now so what?
Sadly, ONE of those SCT idiots is a graduate of the same law school that I am.
"WHEN--JUST WHEN WOULD you advocate taking serious action against treason?"
"Treason" is a very loaded word. I have myself flung it around much too cavalierly in my younger days...once that word is dropped pretty much all options other than rebellion are foreclosed and I do not think we are there yet....
Ann dissed the god of Darwinism and has its priesthood wailing and gnashing their teeth. One thing her book proves is that although the god of Darwinism is primarily a leftist cultural icon, there are people who consider themselves conservative (usually fiscally, not socially) who bow and scrape to that pointless and random deity as well.

Absolutely.
Intelligent? Yes. Would I want a daughter that is a lock step Darwinist, afraid to apply common sense for fear of being figuratively stoned in the public square? NO.
Unfortunately, the opposite is true - I am drawn to them like a Moth to a flame - with the added feature being that they ALSO happen to have been 'violent femmes'.
So I have sworn off of them completely for the time being...
she literally cares not what anyone says about her, she says what needs to be said and will take the consequences. say what else you will, that is admirable.
- - - -
Yup. Exceedingly admirable. And, rather courageous and sacrificial in today's cultural context.
Nah....we've known that they were nuts for years...
Coulter isn't running for president.
She's a clear clarion voice calling out the enemy that lurks in the shadows. She is a Thomas Paine, not a George Washington. If you must use a president as a model, think of the ascerbic, frequently tart tongued, but flawless patriot John Adams.
Everything I've heard suggests Coulter is a model of personal decorum and courtesy outside her role as political commentator and satirist.
She has a more powerful and effective voice that you have. Are you envious? Or do you hate her because you feel the lash of her tongue on your own thin skin? Is it her criticism of the god of Darwinism that sets you off too?
I don't have to approve her sleeping around to approve most other things about her.
Are you trying to say that all who sleep around are pathological? I suspect quite a number of FREEPRS would disagree.
I may consider it spiritually pathological but that's not what you asked at the start of this thread.
