Yeah, but he's exaggerating some. Both U.S. red cards were highly questionable. In one, our guy tackled slightly too late and hit the person instead of the ball. It's happened tons before this past week in the world cup and hasn't been called much. It was a valid red card maybe, but the stupid ref gave a full red card. :( That's definitely NOT a red cardable offense. The next one our man touched the ball and THEN tackled the opponent. That's legal. And literally, about 14-15 of the fouls were Italian off-sides.

I don't remember the exact play, but at most levels of soccer in the US, every player out there today would have been ejected.

But I understand that is how soccer is played in Europe - and I was glad to see our team got physical.
