The next one our man touched the ball and THEN tackled the opponent. That's legal.

I don't remember the exact play, but at most levels of soccer in the US, every player out there today would have been ejected.

But I understand that is how soccer is played in Europe - and I was glad to see our team got physical.

Yeah, I don't watch much U.S. soccer but I've watched all the World Cup games. This ref was really strict against us. Much moreso than any of the other refs I've seen. Seemed like he had an agenda because I've seen a lot of worse stuff in this Cup that hasn't been called; much less red card. Good game though. We showed that America is actually fairly decent.
