The U.S. national team faces a must-win situation Saturday against Italy (2:30 p.m. ET, ABC). The U.S. lineup could see some changes, including adding Eddie Johnson. Czech Republic and Ghana play earlier in the day (11:30 a.m., ABC), while Portugal advanced by beating Iran 2-0.

That ws a lot of fun!!
You never would have known the US was playing a man down for most of the second half. And there is a difference between 11-10 and 10-9, it's much more perilous with 10 on 9.
After what I´ve seen tonight, all I can say is, that you´ve all chances!!
Yes, heroic and and a classy disciplined effort with pride on both sides of the game.
We can be proud of our team now no matter what.
Thank you Team USA.
"Never thought I'd live to see the USA tie Italy in the World Cup, especially playing one man down for a half. We have arrived."
You can say that again.
Sadly, the goal difference might come back to haunt you.
I think this game made converts out of a few haters today.
Uruguay has been previously suspended for irregularities.
Denounced by his fellow refs.
You won't see him again. But the damage has been done.
Thanks FIFA.
That, or Italy beats the Czechs by a ton of goals while the US does the same against Ghana...
This ref was sited for "irregularities" in the past and wasn't allowed to ref the last World Cup.
It could, but realistically our only shot is to beat Ghana and Italy beats the Czechs. Then GD won't matter.
Giorgio..EAT CROW!
I hope your performance inspires the Aussies :-)
That's just sports, FRiend. Winners find ways to overcome officiating. It all evens out - in theory, at least.
Switch Czechs w/ Italy
Its the US, maybe I can find it on a spanish station.
We need to beat Ghana, and Italy need to be Czechs. We are in the second round if that happens. Goal differential be damned.
Italy winning would leave them with 7 points, US win would have them at 4, with Czech and Ghana at 3. We aren't getting in with goal differential, so now we have to root for the damned Italians.
That was a travesty, and the referee stole 2 well-earned points from the US. They completely outplayed Italy, who was reduced to flopping like fish out of water to try to draw free kicks and cards.
That was great! I got it on disk. I am watching it again.
Our guys need a real good rest. Let them go back to the luxury hotel, they deserve it! :)
From this moment on, GO ITALY bEAT CZECH REPUBLIC!
