The American team was pulled out of their luxury hotel and have been training at a US military base. Where did you get that info?

Well, we won because of a penalty shot. But hey, our players haven´t taken cocaine.
Did you know that whenever Iran participated in a World Cup, the host team won the Cup? France 1998, 1978 Argentina, 2006 Germany. ;-)

"He also said Brazil are the clear favorites, then Argentina, then Italy -- rest are rubbish"
He'd say that wouldn't he?
He's Italian.
LOL!
But seriously, yeah the Italians are looking very good, but he shouldn't be underestimating the Germans. They are playing at home after all, they are a very well drilled side like always, and they almost always do very well in World Cup competitions.
That home advantage is going to give them that extra edge.

US starting lineup will be very interisting.
Bruce Arena's job is on the line. I love the guy but we need results.

Personally I think it's time for Arena to go.
That terrible US performance against Italy was bad enough, but to turn round and call out individual players in public, that's beyond the pale.
Really pathetic and weaselly performance by this coach.

Oh, you´re a fellow citizen! Then you must have heard that comment by Kerner half an hour ago. I love these more or less impressive calculations, reasons, statistics why we are going to win the trophy.

Security at the designated Kaiserslautern Hotel was deemed insufficient, so they are at Ramstein AFB.
I suspect the move might have more to do with motivating the team with a rousing send-off from the base.
They'll need it -- the talent gap between USA and Italy is enormous.

Wow.
In the first minute, smash right into the net. Listen to that crowd.

I'll be in Duesseldorf on business the last week of June.
Germany is distinctly inferior to several teams. The only reason they have a chance is that they are at home.
I don't think that will be enough.

Perfect start for us. PERFECT!
Ghana holds the game, and we really have a decent shot.
To: cartan
Ah, I love it. I had Ghana today. It pays well.
They will give a nice match today.
So the Czechs are human after all.

Ahh, now I realize that you all are rooting for Ghana because you see a chance for the US to knock the Czechs out! There´s still hope, ok. Why not?
I crossed my fingers because I want an African team to win at least one game here. It would be too sad otherwise.
