A brutal beating was caught on tape from inside a school bus.

The graphic video showed a middle school teen repeatedly hitting and taunting a 10-year-old boy.

The female bus driver can be heard yelling at the teen, and then moments later removing two teens from the bus; one of them just 14 years old.

While video games can lead to problems, I would bet a month's pay that the real problem in that kids life is bad parents or a lack of parents in his life.

My wife worked at a school, and to a kid, the bad ones had lousy parents, or fathers who were absent.

I worked in schools also, Your wife is a smart woman.
I recall working at a school fair and the sweetest little girl hugging me, and saying daddy was taken away again last night, Because he " ate too much of the powdered sugar on the table".
So many families now are SO broken.
My take is this. In the " older days" one had no choice but to get lost in books or climbing trees on a sunny day.
Now kids play nonsense video games and watch MTV, They gorge themselves silly on junk food and the parents are just to darn tired to see it or stop it.
The bully in the video sure has anger issues. I do not believe in soft pedaling his behavior, But it seems to me in his life, Perhaps all the systems that should have been in place failed him.

Is this the wonderful "real world socialization" that homeschoolers are missing?

By the way, when was the last time you were brutally beaten at your real world job? If adults are not expected to deal with beatings then why are children expected to endure it or witness it?

This is child abuse not only for the victim but for every child on the bus who was a witness.

After finger-pointing and shoving, the 13-year-old stood up and punched the intellectually advanced Chester, also a seventh-grader, several times. "He's twice the victim's size," Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith said Monday. "It's really sickening to watch."

Interesting that they would say in the article that the kid who was victimized was "intellecually advanced." He must be in the gifted program, and that might be another reason they picked on him.

Another reason they picked on him was his race (white), but of course, no "hate crime" here.

Chester Gala was double promoted twice. That's why he'll be in the eighth grade next September (or whenever the school year starts in Anchor Bay).

I thought he came across so well on Greta last night. (I did notice that he had a bit of a twitch.) He gave some sharp answers to her questions. For example, when he was asked about the bullies' punishment, he said that suspension for one of the bullies wasn't punishment because the kid didn't like school! If only folks would quit cowering, pick a leader and have something DECISIVELY done about this Hezbollah-type behavior, it could be stopped. The boy doing the beating should be caned. Then, his mother and father should be caned. Anyone who complains about their punishment should be caned until people decide it would be better to keep silent. Problem solved.
