Mine is running on NTFS but I still thought if the tree was too long it will topple over not the length of file name but total length of tree.

As I said it only recently happened so I am wondering what I have done that would cause it to happen.

Hmmm...interesting.

Does the entire computer freeze, or can you Ctrl-Alt-Del--if you can get the Windows Task Manager up--it might just be that explorer locking up.

My situation was based on memory, and I had to break the pictures up over several different folders--and then access them one at a time.

Other than that, the only other thing I can recommend is to write up what's going on--such that I can call over the other TechSupport guys...

Hope you can get your computer problems solved. Does your friend Phil help with this? I thought I remembered he had some computer knowledge but not sure you see him often enough.. and it seems that things always go wrong when the best helper is not available.
