Batboys usually don't get much glory. But Nate Reese has experienced, albeit briefly, the adulation that comes with completing a great play that gets shown again and again on television, sometimes in slow motion.
On Wednesday night, the crowd at the Metrodome leapt to their feet with a roar when Reese leveled a fan who had scampered in from left field, done a head-first slide into home plate and was getting up to resume a rabbit run from security guards.

At 25, I'd call him "Batman".
They shouldn't have given the names of the two culprits. This sort of publicity will only encourage more of the same. Next one's gonna prance in front of the dugout screaming: "Tackle me batboy, tackle me!"
Although it did sound sorta' jolly and good-natured, as opposed to the fans who throw bottles and try to incite individual players.

Are you ready for some football?

Hey! It's that kid who used to do those "Dude! You're getting a Dell!" ads!
I saw the clip on ESPN. LMAO. The kid laid a full body slam on the guy, and the guy was about 25% larger than the batboy. Knocked him down and kept him down until security arrived.
