Hilary Duff Is Saving Herself for Marriage
Hilary Duff insists her rocker boyfriend Joel Madden will have to put a wedding ring on her finger before he gets the chance to sleep with her because she plans to stay a virgin until her wedding night.
The 18-year-old pop star/actress has revealed she has never had sex and is upset when fans automatically assume she and Good Charlotte star Madden are bedmates.
She says, 'It's harder having a boyfriend who's older because people just assume.'
But (virginity) is definitely something I like about myself. It doesn't mean I haven't thought about sex, because everyone I know has had it and you want to fit in."

It was obvious that Spears was lying her ass off... Even if she was,at least she's willing to pay lip service (NO pun intended) to the idea which is,you'll have to admit, more than 99.9% of showbiz denizens do today.

Color me a cynic, but didn't we hear all of this stuff about Britney Spears? LOL I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING.

She is a good role model. Hopefully this proves that Jessica & Brtiney were not exceptions to the rule

Uh, in light of the photo in Post #12 (assuming it wasn't Photoshopped), I withdraw my comments in Post #14. Although I'm no expert, that photo looks fake.
I out of here - any time spent on celebs is generally wasted time, and this just became further confirmation of that.
Ordinarily,I'd agree with you.Showbiz types today are so boring, predictable and inane. But if a famous one makes comments like hers it just could influence kids in a good way.
Just my 2 cents' worth.

Taht picture is a digitally-altered fake.

That photo is a pretty good fake. If you isolate and zoom in on the pixels around the condom it shows it was doctored. There is a distinct, square area where the pixels do no match.

Good for her.
Contrary to the myth that modern secular society so desperately is invested in, both men and women are perfectly capable of waiting till they have sex for the first time on their wedding nights, and it is the best way.
Modernism, in all its forms, is mostly just rationalized laziness.

I don't know why saving yourself for the one you want to spend your life with is so hard for some people to grasp. I know that people who feel that way are teased about it. I think it's wise and wonderful that you would do that!

I once was surfing radio channels and happened upon a discussion about premarital sex. This young guy called in and made an argument for chasity that I'd never heard before.
He said he'd decided to stay a virgin until marriage b/c he felt it gave him the best chance of really getting to know his potential wife and knowing whether they could work together to make marriage work.
He said once sex was part of the relationship, it tended to cover up a lot of weak or negative things in the relationship; it tended to be a way to gloss over problems rather than actually communicating with intelligent discussion about the problem.
He also said one other thing that surprised me, but made sense as I thought about it. He said that he figured that in all relationships there would come a time when sex wasn't as important as it was initially---he talked about as people got older, busy with children, etc. He said if he loved his wife enough to marry her before they had sex, he figured he'd love his wife enough to get through the stretches when sex once again wasn't such a big part of life, for whatever reason.
He ended by saying he knew so many guys who, when the relationship became more about the relationship and less about sex, said, "I like this girl why?", and he didn't want to be in that boat after he was already married.
Your future wife will be a blessed woman, I believe.

Maybe she's using the Bill Clinton definition of virginity.

It's not natural for men to remain celibate until marriage.Depends on what you mean by 'natural.' It is not 'natural' for those walking in the flesh to remain celibate until marriage, be they male or female. It is perfectly 'natural' for those walking in the Spirit. (Natural doesn't mean easy, by the way.)

Oh my gosh! I have been smitten with this young siren since whe was 14 or so. Much more so than with any of the other young ones. Her eyes, that smile, my wife even understands me, LOL. To find out that she is a "good" girl, makes me positively in love, sigh....

You are, of course, correct. I was referring more to the flesh's desires as opposed to spirit's desires.
I could never live a promiscuous lifestyle and be happy. The very thought of it is repugnant to me. My flesh would undoubtedly enjoy the cheap thrills, but I'd never be anything other than unhappy with such a life.
It is hard to do what is right. But it's worth it.

That is so true. Marriage can't just be about attraction to someone. You have to think clearly about what you're getting into. You have to know the person well and you have to be under no delusions about yourself. Ultimately, if you take the effort to see that these things are taken care of, the rest will follow.

Promiscuity at its core is about selfishness. It's an attitude of me me me, and that just doesn't work in a real relationship.
If I truly love someone, then the sexual side of marriage will take care of itself. Loving someone does not mean being physically attracted to them. Love in of itself is an action that someone has to consciously choose to take.
And it can't be done in half-measures; it has to be all or nothing. I've never seriously dated anyone, and I only date for marriage. If I find a lady I think may be the one for me, before I let myself seriously consider marriage, there are some questions I have to ask myself, the main one being would I really love her through sickness and health? If I married her tomorrow, and she was injured the next day, left paralyzed and unable to care for herself, would I be willing to take care of her for the rest of my days? Would I be willing to put in those long hours to take care of her and get no reward for it? Because if I wasn't, then I have no business being her husband. When I can adequately answer those questions, then I will know it is time. This is a perfect picture of Christ's love. As a husband, I have to be able to love her no matter what happens. My love for her and her love for me is based not on what we do, but on what we've chosen. In the same way, Christ did not come and lay His life down for us because of anything we did, but because of who He is and what He chose to do.
How can a person who sleeps with the closest thing he finds ever be sure that he feels that way about a woman? All he does is indulge his fleshly desires and pays no attention to what's truly important.
It's not that I think sex isn't important in the marriage; I consider it essential. But if I truly have the mindset I described, and I truly care for her that way, I have a suspicion that the physical side will be...well taken care of.
I originally didn't intend to deliver a sermon; it just kind of happened. My apologies.

Please do not buy into that lie! My biggest regret is that I was unable to come to my wife as she came to me so many years ago. With the STDs that can cause tremendous problems later in life so common today, it is the greatest wedding gift you could possibly give to your Bride.

It's not natural for the flesh, but my spirit rails against a permiscuous lifestyle. It holds no attraction for me.

It's not natural for men to remain celibate until marriage Actually it's not only natural, it's pretty much impossible for them not to.
