Lawyer Alex Charns unleashed a second salvo this week in what he calls his "poster war," demanding a public police apology for a March placard that sought help in solving the Duke University lacrosse rape case.
Charns, representing one of the unindicted players, also reiterated an earlier request that the Durham Police Department launch an internal investigation into the situation.
Police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said the department had no immediate comment.
According to Charns, the poster libeled 46 lacrosse players before the district attorney acknowledged he had sufficient evidence to prosecute only three for the alleged rape of an exotic dancer during an off-campus party at 610 N. Buchanan Blvd. in mid-March.
The poster said the accuser "was sodomized, raped, assaulted and robbed. This horrific crime sent shock waves throughout our community."

Well howlin,my man, I believe I can tell you pretty much what the black community will say.
They will say it was a cover-up by the white police and DA's office, that in spite of all the evidence , indeed this poor black virginal exotic dancer was indeed raped, by these rich Honkey kids.

10 beds might have to be parceled out if a lot of people show up. You might need to institute a submarine type hot-bunk system. Three people get a bed, but only in eight hour shifts.

but I hope the judgement against Durham is about, oh, 50 jillion dollars. I know of a case worse than this one, believe it or not, in which the city wound up paying $750,000. Not pocket change, but not jillions either.

Two reasons:
1. I don't want to be gator food.
2. If a gator bites me and dies, I'll get arrested for gatorcide. I can't win either way.

Well, I've only seen ONE in the lake behind our home.....

To: js1138
Not a huge sum compared to what Los Angeles has had to pay over the years, but you're right, it was a large amount. Imagine what they might have to pay for the Duke fiasco? Gives me the shivers!

Well, ok then. If it'll just eat one arm or leg I might put you back on my tour list.
