Sounds good to me regarding Italy not knowing anything about the USA team. I think our guys are much more familiar with the Italians. Sounds like Italy doesn't see us as much of a threat.

I've been to Mexico City and there are a lot of very rich Mexicans. Lots of upper-middle-class, also. Problem is the vast numbers of dirt poor outside the city center and the poor orphans who live in the streets.

As an Englishman, you should never speak of the Argyles unless authorized by Margaret Thatcher to do so. :)

Also, anyone who watched England's match..did they play better than their first match?

On balance, yes. England were stymied throughout the first half. They livened up in the 2nd half, especially when Rooney and Lennon came in, but part of this was just the elderly T&T side getting tired. T&T had three near goals—one took a miracle save, another called offside. Anyway, good to see England finally finish strong.

They must play better. From the Daily Mail:

“But England remain a team in urgent need of improvement. Even if a passage to the knock-out stages is now secure, their chances of progressing beyond that appear remote, with either Germany or Ecuador waiting.

"'We can win without Rooney,' was the bold declaration of Eriksson and his players before the tournament began.

“Keep playing like this and winning the World Cup with Rooney will prove impossible.”

With a 6-0 annihilation, everyone else looks much better. US looked flat and ineffective and Spain got a bonus from a ref with a two fer: penalty and a ridiculous red card to boot.

I'm not convinced of Spain yet. The turn of play in the heat with a man down showed some pressure on their side.

The biggest disappointment of the tournament is seeing the first real victim of El grupo de Muerte. Ivory Coast showed great talent and energy and deserved a better fate.

I can't wait until the Australia-Brazil match. I think the Aussies have a chance.

TradeSports.com has them about a 13 to 1 dog. Regardless, I'm also looking forward to that match.

Andres Cantor is calling the Mexico/Angola game for Spanish language radio. I don't know much Spanish, but I'm listening anyway. I'll certainly know when someone scores!

Nice! That's why I'm a fan of Mexican club Santos. Santos plays in Torreon, one of the hottest cities in Mexico. The Mexican league starts in August when it's 35 C/95 F. You do the math on how their female fans dress......

I understand Spanish. Last night on Radio Unica, there was a report that Angola had hired a witch doctor to put a hex on Mexico. It's worked so far.......

SI beefed up their World Cup coverage

See: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/soccer/specials/world_cup/2006/

I'm quite impressed by their coverage (certainly a huge improvement from past World Cups)

If Angola can just knock off the offsides, they might do something. 3 already in the first half.
