Okay! Since I didn't get to watch any matches since Monday(UUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH), did Theo Walcott even play?

Yikes! I need to go further up the thread or go look at the World Cup site, but did Crespo or Messi score any goals?

I know! I know! I'm such a slacker. I'm in WC withdrawal!

So far the South American teams are making a nice accounting for themselves in a European tournament. I believe only once a South American team (Brazil of course) has won the Cup on European soil.

I know you've been upset about how easy a group Mexico has, but don't worry too much about it. They'll have to play Holland or Argentina in the Round of 16. They will be distinct underdogs to either of those two teams.

Unless Team USA had won our group (which was never very likely), the best we could hope for was a round of 16 match against Brazil.

Right now, frankly, I'd rather face Brazil than Argentina.

I can't wait until the Australia-Brazil match. I think the Aussies have a chance.

Argentina looked like a buzzsaw today. Haven't see Brazil in the Cup yet.

You can't be serious. I expect 3-0 Brazil. Brazil have to show up after that huge Argentina victory.

Brazil looked pretty lackluster against Croatia. If the Aussies force a draw against Brazil, they would be in position to win the group.

I just think the Aussies play unconventional style and that may throw Brazil off their game. I could see a tie if the Aussies play inspired, and they really have no pressure on them, since nobody expects them to win. I've just had this hunch that the Aussies are going to be the 2006 version of the 2002 US team.

Thanks. I got to see the Aussies play in 94 in the States. They play hard.

Nope they only get 3 points for the win

Oh, I know that... I was just playing off your joke in #86 about how Argentina beat Serbia 3-0 and Montenegro 3-0.

On the face of it I'd call your prediction nuts but the Aussies play hard in every sport and Hiddink may have some Jedi Mind Tricks up his sleeve:

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=371329&cc=5901

The tale about Australia fielding a weakened team to save their yellow-card players for Croatia I don't buy. I can't see Hiddink or the Aussies surrendering without a fight.

I'd love to see the Aussies topple the Brazilians and their old, fat, and out-of-shape Ronaldo, but it would be a bloody miracle if they do.

I'm not sure if Don Francisco is doing the Univision games. I looked on the net and it looks like Andres Cantor and Jorge Ramos. One of them speaks pretty good German.
