Darn those discovery laws! Nifong had knit himself a grand case out of whole cloth, and now it's just unraveling before his very eyes. No wonder he's silent.

I'm beginning to suspect the WP and NYT printing articles about the Durham/Lacross case is the result of Bob Bennett's behind the scenes influence.

And then you had the front page story in Saturday's WaPo, and the Op-Ed in Sunday's NY Times... It's all Scriptural now...

I think even Kimberly Guilfoyle has turned the corner on this case and thinks it's a "croc".

"Prosecutor's Silence on Duke Rape Case Leaves Public With Plenty of Questions"

Only one.

What is Nifong doing in a position of trust?

The media is the bane of our civilization. The way they report crime is a travesty. Whether you are looking at this case, or the OJ case, or the Aruba case, or the Runaway Bride, or the Haditha case, nothing good comes out of their pandering to the public's obsessions.

:)

So WHY the silence? Is he trying to figure out how to worm his way out of prosecuting the case?

I suspect what we will hear next is that the accuser will not testify so the DA will have to drop the charges.

" I think even Kimberly Guilfoyle has turned the corner on this case and thinks it's a "croc"."

Shes gone from crusader to contrite, in a helluva hurry.

She had those boys convicted before she ever saw any evidence.

Despite the lack of evidence the slimes is straining in this article to make it appear that the guys are guilty. They just can give it up no matter what the evidence shows. Nothing in the article would lead a person to believe that the DA jumped to conclusions that were false, but simply hasn't gotten his evidence together yet.

Several references to being able to win the case, or not losing the case, but nothing about what is the correct and legal thing to do. Cases aren't about winning or losing(or shouldn't be) but about if the crime really occured and if so, are the ones charged that ones who actually did the crime.

In this case it is highly doubtful that a crime actually occured.

Thanks for the ping.

I wish the article had posted one of the most significant aspects of the medical report, and that is that she showed no signs of being beaten or strangled, and in fact told the medical staff that she wasn't beaten or strangled, yet Nifong said she was and went so far as to demonstrate how she was strangled/choked, had photos taken of the guys with their shirts off, and is making the claim about the fake fingernail partial DNA match based on his own concocted lies and that it was extreme misconduct for him to do this.

It appears that Nifong is writing a check with local government money for his personal use that the state treasury department can't cash in the end. He belongs in Federal prison if these charges prove false, and made to sell all his belongings to begin amends to these kids.

I think the next move is by the defense to have the whole thing thrown out. It will of course go to a judge so NiFong will merely be doing a handoff. After it gets thrown out, THEN the defense attorneys will go after NiFong and it looks like Himan.

Himan and the DA would have had to have MANY conversations before going for the indictment which we aren't and never will be privy to. Himan isn't going to take the rap alone. All they have to do is get their lies straight which looks pretty impossible at this point.

Our DA doesn't say BOO until the case is over. He's just excellent!!

The Police Chief speaks of a crime but giving only general information. Apparently, Durham doesn't have a Police Chief who is willing to speak. (Threatened by NiFong??)

When this case blow up in his face I hope Nifong spend as much time trying to hang this lying young woman as he did persecuting the boys.

Anybody believe that will happen?.

Hopefully, Nifong will not keep his job long enough to prosecute anybody after the truth comes out.
