I'm talking about two homosexuals raising a child. Now, they may love the child, provide everything for the child. They may be gainfully employed, save tuition money for college for the child, but they cannot provide the child with a mother.
The gay rights debate is framed from both an adult perspective and a feminist outlook, the notion being that babies don't need mothers; any two loving adults will do.
According to the sexual revolution, you don't have to let the needs of children interfere with adult life style preferences.
I agree with you there, a child should have a mother. But if gays want to adopt orphans who wouldn't have a mother anyway, or a child whose mother is abusive, then I say good for them.
