I agree with you there, a child should have a mother. But if gays want to adopt orphans who wouldn't have a mother anyway, or a child whose mother is abusive, then I say good for them.

That's because you fail to understand the fact that homosexuality by its very nature is abusive. People who make the mistake of thinking it is better for a child to be adopted by a gay couple than to grow up in an orphanage don't understand that homosexual relationships aren't normal ones.

In theory, yes, but I view this argument as basically false. The gay rights movement is not focused on rescuing abused orphaned children; it is focused on attaining the right to marry for the purpose of advancing their agenda. One such example of a written agenda is the 1972 Gay Rights Platform which was formulated in Chicago. You can look it up on the Internet. In this platform, they say they want polygamous marriage legally accepted and they want to abolish the age of sexual consent.
It's a long leap from orphans to polygamy and pedophillia, but the gay rights movement is quite relentless. I wonder where the stopping point will be. When will they stop demanding something new.
The thing is that if they attain everything they want legally, I still don't believe that they will be happy. It's an old cliche, but happiness lies within. They're so much in the habit of blaming everyone else for their unhappiness.
