Terre Haute Weather Station Wars
The Daily Show ^ | Jon Stewart

Posted on 06/05/2006 10:09:05 AM PDT by Dutch14

This is just too funny to let go. A while back, one Terre Haute news station decided to do a little (and shameless I might add) self-promotion by bashing another new station's weather department. What makes one weather station different from the next? Follow the link for a good laugh!

Warning: Language not suitable for everyone!

I can not imagine what the station manager was thinking when he approved that material for broadcast. I really can't understand what in the world they though in defending that ad in a newspaper.

Must be liberals involved - when they get caught doing something stupid, they just keep on going...

Wow ... except for the bad language, that was great! Thanks for the link. What really got me was when the guy from the television station that broadcast that ridiculous ad was quoted in the follow-up newspaper article as saying, "I don't quite get it ..." !!!!!

*sigh* He doesn't get that one tv station running attack ads against the competitor's weather team is so ludicrous that it's great fodder for comedy??? With that level of denseness, he's in the wrong job -- he should be a newscaster!

Yawn.

Thanks for sharing that. It was a valuable contribution to the discussion. It shows imagination, brains, creativity, and above all, originality! And what an upbeat and inspiring person you clearly are. "Sunshine" must be your nickname.

You're very welcome. Glad to have given you a chance to feel better about yourself. Apparently, every little bit helps.

In case you're wondering, "Yawn" was a concise way of stating that, after watching the video, I disagreed with the "too funny" sentiment expressed by the poster. "Yawn" means I thought it was rather boring. Having already wasted too much time watching it, a pithy response seemed like the right thing to do.

Unfortunately (or not), it didn't occur to me that some overly-sensitive busybody thought police might be looking for a reason—any reason—to take (or give) offense.

So, if that describes you, it's certainly understandable if the meaning behind my terse response was too obscure for you.

At any rate, feel free to continue the spreading of your own brand of sunshine, accompanied as it is with hypocrisy.
