It's scanning my machine, and says I don't have iTunes installed. I bailed out of the page scan. Is it going to screw-up my unit to install iTunes?
(Obviously, you can tell I have NO experience with that MAC-Apple stuff...)

Sorry, can't say I've used it myself. But I do know you can use itunes on a PC to get music for your ipod. I don't see why the TV show buying wouldn't work, though you'd have to watch it on your PC unless you have some type of output card that will let you put out a signal to your TV.

No, you're PC will be fine if you install itunes.
I have itunes on mine and the only problem I have is that my son has used about 25% of my space to download hundreds of songs....he has since figured out how to be able to use my internet connection for his laptop.
