I am referring to a report I read about two weeks ago.
The cabbie had some minor beef with the Durham PD and like lots of people, he ignored it. As I recall, it was mostly a paperwork and fine thing, but he didn't take care of it. Always a mistake, since the parasites that make up local DMV and county courthouse staff need that paperwork to justify their existence.

Anyway, he is in trouble now, Finnerty is looking at the old charge in D.C. coming back, as is Evans who's got some minor infraction deal thing, too. Sticky Fingers Kim stole 25K from her employer and is walking around free. The most vicious crime here is what has been done to these boys and to their families. One of the other Lacrosse players tried to enter another program at Syracuse and was denied, even though the program there had tried to recruit him during H.S. Innocent until proved guilty is right out the window in this country, and we can thank the likes of OJ Simpson and Claus von Bulow and their slimy, godless lawyers.

Thanks for the info. I think the only protection that innocent cab driver has from being persecuted for his honesty is for the whole country to be watching for Nifong and Durham authorities to persecute him.

I know I've heard worry expressed on FR that there would be some trumped up charge used to try to deport him. Based on what we've seen, I wouldn't doubt that Nifong and his local political machine (inc. the city manager) would try it if they thought they could get away with it.

Some years ago the cabbie gave two women a ride to the mall. One woman went in, the other stayed in the cab. When the first woman returned from the mall he gave them both a ride home.

Turns out the woman who went into the mall had shoplifted some purses from Hechts. The cabbie helped Hecht's security identify the women and they were eventually caught and punished.

Apparently the DPD had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant on the cabbie for driving the "getaway vehicle". When he came to the DPD's attention for providing an alibi for RS, the DPD dug up the warrant and had him arrested. Last I heard he's out on bail.

Regarding Evans--I think it was last week or the week before he was in court on the minor infraction, which I think was a noise violation(??). The judge basically told the prosecutor to take the case and leave and that the prosecutor was wasting the court's valuable time on such drivel.
