Some years ago the cabbie gave two women a ride to the mall. One woman went in, the other stayed in the cab. When the first woman returned from the mall he gave them both a ride home.
Turns out the woman who went into the mall had shoplifted some purses from Hechts. The cabbie helped Hecht's security identify the women and they were eventually caught and punished.
Apparently the DPD had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant on the cabbie for driving the "getaway vehicle". When he came to the DPD's attention for providing an alibi for RS, the DPD dug up the warrant and had him arrested. Last I heard he's out on bail.

The two cops sent to arrest the cabbie just by coincidence happened to be the two detectives investigating the rape case. (Who sends detectives--instead of street cops--to serve an expired warrant on a cabbie in a case that's already closed?)
That could be called intimidation of a witness, and is a felony for all involved (the detectives and whoever sent them).
Don't hold your breath waiting for 'justice' or the results of an 'internal investigation' in this. . .
