SWC,

I don't think any one here thinks Linux will outdo vista in terms of dollars but there is no doubt the semi annual delay announcements and the leaks of the ridiculous hardware needed to run vista when looked at through the lens of a system which is more the computer of two years ago rather than the computer of tomorrow will help Linux.

MS may very well see a fall in market share because they have not done anything with vista either technically or temporally (We waited 6 years for XP with eye candy) to deserve anything more..

If linux sees a desktop market share increase of 3% from this (from their current 3% to 6%) over the life cycle of vista this will be a win for Linux and if MS sees it as anything else I would be amazed, more likely balmier will through another chair..

LMAO you call that "winning the battle with Microsoft"? Knocking them from 90 percent to 87 percent? LOL that's obviously not what the author of this tripe meant.

(We waited 6 years for XP with eye candy)...

I still haven't tried Vista yet.  I am putting together another PC and will probably load it.

I hope I am not disappointed with it.
