As the transcript shows, Sgt. Gottlieb was curiously uninterested in her hit on the unknown Image 4. He didn't ask her degree of certainty about him. Early on, I read that two of the players (or their lawyers) presented proof that they weren't even in NC on the night of the party. Nifong declined to exclude them from the team testing. I think Image 4 was one of those two who Gottlieb knew wasn't at the party, much less one of the attackers.

The Investigator doing the lineup kept the AV on track. That is correct. Remember, anything she says incorrectly in the lineup - anything can be used to question her recollection of the night.
Another point in that lineup, the AV says someone was in the BEDROOM - and it's clear that the Investigator steers her back into her story and she changes it to comport with her story AFTER the investigator Prompts her -
It goes something like this:
AV: He was in the bedroom
Investigator: BEDROOM?
AV: Yes.
Investigator: I'm sorry , did say BEDROOM?
Av: I mean the LivingRoom

I believe it's entirely possible she picked someone not at the party because there seems to be no rhyme or reason why she picked anyone. I know people have speculated that she deliberately picked players whose parents have money, but I tend to agree with the pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey theory, she just seemed to be randomly picking players, with a little help from the investigators.
This stinks, my gosh the cops are the ones that need to be investigated.
GAgal, what do you think about the "on this image" remark about image #5? Sounds weird to me. Sounds like she has been shown other images of #5.
"How um, how sure are you of that on this image?"
Why the added qualifier about "on this image"?
Gottlieb doesn't follow up on #4 at all, and says something odd (to me) about #5.
