I was really bummed out that Kurt wasn't going to be in this movie: The interaction between Logan and Kurt was always one of my favorite parts of the comics. I'll be seeing it on Wednesday night.

I enjoyed the prior X-men movies and will see the latest installment. They're not profound, just alot of fun. I think this latest one is doing especially well because there is literally nothing else worth seeing. Remember the nominees for best picture for last year? I think that says it all. The movie-going public is starved for some old-fashioned entertainment and does not want to be force fed heavy-handed agitprop.
And even better one more week of movie openings means we are one week closer to the return of Captain Jack.No one is more pirate-obsessed than my 5-year-old, and according to him it doesn't open until the 7th of July. (Or so he marked the calendar...)
He is correct. I'm already counting down too although I don't think I put it on the calendar. I have to help with a camp when it opens. I hope those little bastards don't tear up the floor while I am gone, because I won't be there to stop them. :)
I agree. It's not art but, it's a heck of a lot of fun. All in all, a very enjoyable movie.
I have a son named Logan in honor of Wolverine. I took said son to see X-Men 3 on Friday. If you are a fan of the comic books, to say X-Men 3 sucked, is like saying Hurricane Katrina was a light mist, and that The sinking of the Titanic was a small accident.
Honestly, don't bother. If you liked the comic books, you won't like the movie.

Roger seems to be very good at some things, like breaking news on Michael Jackson's finances, but he's not very good at predicting what movie or CD is going to be a bit hit. I think he lets politics cloud his judgment. A few weeks ago, he was going on about what massive sellers the new Bush-hating Dixie Chicks and Neil Young CDs would be. Then the other day, he was lamenting about how the record company obviously didn't know how to promote Neil's CD, since it didn't sell very well. I think he's the only one surprised about that. In this column, he's predicting that the next Kevin Smith movie will be huge, so you might want to sell any stock you have in that studio.
My son and I are going to be in Florida at Walt Disney World when the movie opens, so that should be lots of fun. He was more excied about the Pirates trailer at the beginning of the movie then he was about the movie itself.
It does look pretty scary for a little one tho, you might end up with him hiding his face, and sitting on your lap.
