well, I WOULD post a pix if I can extract them from the chip!!!
He did okay. It is funny as the water/current was VERY heavy. He did some canoing (I suspect NOT MUCH) maybe 50 years ago.
He normally just pops out of the car to go for activities.. He saw the current /situation etc & kept going back to his car (maybe 20 minutes worth.) I chuckled.
My friend John arrived about 10 minutes after we did. He has had a lot of water experience compared to Wheely.. (bill) I gave them both some refresher lessons. Made sure their life vests were tight enough & showed them what to do if/when they dumped.
I tell newbies that you need to enter every kayak/canoe experience assuming you will dump & that will be the fun/highlight of the trip. If it doesn't happen, awe gee. maybe next time???
He is very thin & frail. He is after all 80 years old, bent over w/osteoporosis & has had cancer! He did very well considering all. I put him in a relatively sheltered cove so he could get the feel of the kayak (very stable) and the paddle.
If I live that long I hope I have the enthusiasm to try new, scary things. He is off to a singles dance tonight!!!
:-)
Talk about scary things!
