Thanks for the ping jonny! I wanted Taylor from the beginning. This the first Idol season that the one I wanted right from the start actually won!

COOL!!
There was a great LATimes article that noted that all of the AI winners have been from small, southern towns.
It noted that while Taylor, Pickes and the rest were getting keys to the city, having days named after them, meeting the governors, etc. Kat got a helicopter ride and a few minutes with LA Mayor Villareconquista.
The bottom line is in LA, Kat is one of a million good looking folk with talent looking to be the next "thing." There is no hometown advantage here (I was a Soul-patroller from the beginning!)
Los Angeles yawned.

While they didn't win the crown, North Carolina had 3 ontestants to reach the final 12....Chris, Bucky, and Kelly.
McPhee has a beautiful voice, but she is more West Coast....Taylor is what "I like about the South"...he has SOUL. LOL (I also really like Eliot and hope that his CDs go to the top of the charts.)

Rice was rooting for fellow Birmingham native Taylor Hicks and will soon send him a congratulatory letter, says a State Department official.Very, very, VERY cool, Jonnie. Thanks for the ping. If Idol keeps growing, next thing we know it will be obligatory for presidents to invite the winners to the WH.

Condi has good taste.
Too bad for her that she is SOS right now with Tagliabue retiring. Her dream job is so close, but yet so far away.
