CHIX SINGIN’ NEW ‘VIEW’TUNE (Dixie Chix apologize again)

May 25, 2006 -- DIXIE Chick Emily Robison has apologized to the women of "The View" for dissing them in Time magazine.

"View" co-host Meredith Vieira read Robison's mea culpa at the top of yesterday's show.

"I wanted to write you directly to apologize for my comment in Time magazine. I attempted to explain how much we respect maverick artists like Bruce Springsteen," Robison wrote. "My intention was not to insult 'The View,' and at the time, I was truly just pulling a name out of the air."

The comment infuriated the show's co-hosts, since "The View" gave The Dixie Chicks their big break in 1998. On Tuesday's show, Joy Behar tore the Time magazine article to shreds.

No one can keep a grudge longer than me, but isn't it apparent what is happening here?

I honestly don't know.

I pay so little attention to the doings of celebrities.

These Ditzy Chick threads crack me up because they harken back to early '03 when Natalie Maines first stepped in it.

But I'm woefully behind on pop culture. I don't even know what TV shows are popular. I haven't been in the US all year and haven't been there much at all since early '04.

I watch from afar and laugh at what amuses me.

It is a perfect song. As a victim, I really give this song credit for reminding me of my close relationship w/ a girlfriend of mine who never gave up on me and always was there for me when I needed to pick up my pieces.
Too be honest, We have nicknamed my sons father Earl so that he has no clue who we are talking about. (hopefully he doesn't grow up to be a chix fan)
I do agree that they are quite a hot topic and really shouldn't be putting political views out there. At least at that time. And as far as the view goes-who cares.
