I dont think they have even played it once here on the country stations in New Mexico. Which is fine with me since I have never liked their music even before they decided to play political stupidity.
The only song of their's I can even think of is "Kill Earl" or something like that which I only heard once and changed the station because I felt it was offensive.

I guess the Rick Rubin production philosophy of letting artists be themselves didn't work too well in this case. Oh well, if I were Rick I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it. He still has the best album of the year so far to his credit.

"I'd rather have a small following of really cool people who get it" That is the stupidest comment I have ever heard from a person who is trying to make money by selling music.

You mean like having your own TV show?Yes, but don't you know it's just not the Dixie Chicks' kind of show. It's all country and redneck and provincial, not progressive and cool.
Isn't it funny how the Chicks are everything they claim those ignorant old rednecks are?

He's got a busy touring schedule, that's all I know.
(I've got an uncondtional love for the man, btw)

I have to say I've never been a Lynyrd Skynyrd fan (no offense!), but those are nice lyrics.

But ever since the flap over the Dixie Chicks began, I have not heard the song requested.

They would be happier on the left coast or in the blue blood states.

did anyone see them on David Letterman?? He's a big left wing suck up, I figured they were on their to bash Bush. Post back if anyone watched. I would like to know what was said ... just so I can dislike them both more.

That is the stupidest comment I have ever heard from a person who is trying to make money by selling music. I think one of them--does it matter whom?--also said something to the effect of, "We don't care if it [their new album] sells, or if it doesn't. We don't pay attention to stuff like that."
How moronic is that? You have a job...and you basically say, "I don't care if the work I do is productive, or not. I don't pay attention to it."
If your future earning power is diminished (and undoubtedly it has been), I'll bet you start caring...

As much as I despise the actions of the DC, I think they deserve a small amount of credit for their "Travelin' Soldier" song.
Its too bad they couldn't write a song like that about the soldiers who are fighting and dying today, rather than the ones who fought 30 years ago, well-deserved as VN vets are.

It certainly is.
In the rarefied air of the culturally elite there is NOTHING more important than being hip and cool. Of course the smaller the following, the MORE "really cool" they are.
Of course, airhead celebrities think being "with it" consists of spouting regurgitated anti-American nonsense, wearing sunglasses at night, and sporting "look at me, I'm tough" tattoos.
Buttlips Clooney made similar "courageous" disdainful comments at some who-cares "Awards" show.

"I'd rather have a small following of really cool people who get it" Reminds me of PeeWee Herman saying "I meant to do that" after falling off his bike in PeeWee's Big Adventure.

So why try to sell it at all then?
Just leave them at Time Square so people can pick 'em up..if The Bimbo Chicks are lucky.
LOL!

Last night the TV show "Medium" featured a song from their latest CD, and at the end of the show, the CD was shown. I saw that too; never seen a CD promoted that way before.

Natalie Maines does not know how to shut up and sing. She loves being in the spotlight. They could not buy this type of publicity!
We in her home town are sick of her!
