May 21, 2006 -- OPRAH Winfrey has inked a deal to publish a fitness book with her personal trainer Bob Greene in what industry insiders say is the richest nonfiction book deal in history, sources told On The Money.
While sources declined to give an exact price, these people said it is larger than the $12 million advance former President Bill Clinton got to write his autobiography, "My Life," which was published by Knopf in 2004.
Oprah's book will be published by Simon & Schuster in January, and the gathering of publishing types at the annual Book Expo America in Washington, D.C., this weekend was abuzz with speculation about "an embargoed book coming out in January," according to a source.

We were in his apartment in Chicago, and Oprah - who back then was a local talk-show host in Chicago and had not yet gone national - came on the TV which was on in the background.
John looked up from what he was doing at the the TV, paused, and said dryly:
"Oprah, you fat blob."
Then he looked back down and continued reading.
'Nuff said.
Gary and Minge are going to write it for her.
Does each book come with a personal trainer and chef?
Was that picture taken in January (when she weighed 155 pounds) or February (when she was back to 225???)
Is this the same Operah Winfrey I have seen waddle out across the stage at the start of her show?
I have to give her credit---she always makes all the way to her chair.
I noticed when she was interviewing Tom Cruise that her LOWER legs (knee to ankle) were noticeably larger around than his upper legs (thighs).
Amazing what money can buy...

Take a look at some pictures of her on her show back when she got started. (They're real hard to find on the internet, I know, I just looked.) You would not recognize her. She has one great plastic sturgeon.
I liked her in The Color Purple. She was great.
"First lemme get a little high.."
Well, Magic Johnson gives lectures on how to avoid getting sexually transmitted diseases. I can hardly wait for the follow up books, "How to Have a Happy Marriage" by Anna Nichole Smith, "Winning Political Strategies" by Susan Estrich, "Winning the Big One" by Peyton Manning, "Hair Styling for Dignity and Class" by Donald Trumpe, "How to Pick Out the Perfect Toupe" by William Shatner and Burt Reynolds, "Raising Healthy, Happy Kids", by Ryan O'Neal and Elizabeth Taylor (with a tribute to Marlon Brando), and "Make Your Business a Winner!" by Carly Fiona.
Can you find a couple of pictures from that show?

Greene claims that 'Get With the Program!' (Simon & Schuster, 2002) is not a diet or fitness book. Rather, it focuses on teaching people how to get back in shape both emotionally and physically. Greene contends that emotional eating is epidemic in the United States, and he encourages readers to recognize feelings that can trigger these negative eating behaviors. Dieters don't set goals about weight, size, or getting as "thin as a pin," but about building a healthy mind and body. Greene's first book, 'Make the Connection,' (Hyperion, 1996) follows this same weight control philosophy.
Ophrah's Trainer Bob Greene Walks and Bikes Across the USA
He started April 20, 2004 in Los Angeles, by May 14 he was crossing Alabama, and he plans to finish May 25 in Washington DC. Bob Greene, exercise physiologist and personal trainer to Oprah Winfrey, is heading McDonald's Go Active American Challenge - walking and biking across the USA.
Bob Green's Get With the Program is not a diet, but rather an eating and exercise plan that focuses on getting rid of emotional and haphazard eating as well as making exercise an important part of followers' lifestyles. The plan does not recommend drastic changes to what we eat, but rather focuses on really understanding what we put in our mouths and why. Get With the Program focuses on health, sensible eating choices and lifestyle decisions that are intended to be followed throughout one's life.
