U.S. SENATOR UNHURT IN AIRCRAFT CRASH

Posted on 05/20/2006 11:00:23 PM PDT by SandRat

The Associated Press reports that New York junior Senator, Hillary Clinton, narrowly escaped injury when the aircraft that she was piloting was forced to make an emergency landing in southern New Jersey because of bad weather.

National Transportation Safety Board officials have issued a preliminary determination that pilot error contributed to the accident, and that the Senator was flying the aircraft alone in IFR (instrument flight rating) conditions while only having obtained a VFR (visual flight rating) rating.

The absence of a post-crash fire was likely due to insufficient fuel on board. No one on the ground was injured.

The photograph below, taken at the scene, shows the extent of damage to Senator Clinton's aircraft. She was very lucky!

AP reports that at the time of the Crash, Dick Cheney was bird hunting again.

Isn't that enough to revoke her license(Broom or otherwise?)?

Notice how far down you have to read to realize she was the pilot and she was basically flying illegally. Wonder why that was. If it was Dick Cheney it would be headlines on all networks.

MADD issued a statement that it was a good thing that Sen Kennedy wasn't flying with Sen Clinton as a passenger.

When she flew to afghanistan, some of the military referred to her plane as "broomstick one"

I think this is correct even though it is from memory and not sourced in a written article.

The minute her unroyal lowness and aircraft are mentioned in the same sentence . . . I can bet a broom will show up shortly.

Quite fittingly, of course.
