The only reason I posted this was for this zinger.

To which another student replied: “Your mother’s a whore.” And then, to the first student’s stunned incredulity, he added, “And even if that’s just fiction, it’s still interesting to think about.”

Ooh! That's gona leave a mark.

“We can’t be sure who began the atrocities,” he cautions.

It's Bush's fault.

Sounds like a new classic. If this review has any semblence of reality, it sounds like it could have been written by this bunch of clowns:

Ah, well. "...and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. "

Agree on most all, including the Orthodox, but the Vatican has been trying to get rid of the Freemasons for centuries (including during WWII), so I think you may want to take them off of that list.

The Masons were organized specifically to counter Papal political power in Europe. When the Protestant movement split into so many factions -- the Masonic Order was the only place that non-Roman Catholics came together as one and networked -- socially, economically and politically. The Vatican became so afraid of them, that the Knights of Columbus were organized to counter that Masonic networking with Roman Catholic networking.

Most of the "Masonic-trashing" propaganda of the world started in the Vatican. But many non-RCers have picked it up and run with it, seeing a "Masonic conspiracy under every bed". Ironic -- it isn't the Masons who played into the Popes game, it's the Masonic-bashers who are doing the Pope's biidding without ever realizing it.

Many of the Founding Fathers of the US (virtually all of the movers & shakers) were Freemasons, including George Washington -- and most of the founding principles of the US are Masonic values. Turn over a dollar bill to see the pyramid and the eye -- and you will know what I am talking about.

And no, I am not a Mason (or affilate lodge), although my father was.

I do not know what that silly cartoon is trying to do... but, one thing is FOR SURE....there was a Utaschi in Croatia and it was a KILLER SS OUTFIT DURING WWII, which operated a concentration camp in CROATIA where over 800,000 Serbian Christians, Jews and gypsies were ANNIHILATED!

If your cartoon was meant to be FUNNY in regard to the UTASCHIS.. the cartoon failed MISERABLY!!! HOLOCAUST DENIAL IS A BAD THING!!

See the US Holocaust museum web site, for MORE info on the the UTASCHI of Croatia!! You neeed to do so.

I think he posted the "cartoon" to hold it up to ridicule, which it deserves.

READ the part about the Orthodox AGAIN... the Utaschi were run by members of the group in Croatia who were also helped to escape to South America, after the war by the famed RATLINES through "SOME" folks in Rome. NOT fiction, but HISTORY.

Yes, the UTASCHIS were butchers!! NOT FUNNY and NOT A LIE!

Lion, I am not sure you and I are reading the piece about the Orthodox the same way.

What I read was that the Orthodox have been slaughtered by the Pope's killer squad, the Ustashi. And betrayed too by the "communist Pope" (referring to the previous Polish pope).

Am I missing something that you see?

I agree. What then do we make of Bokababe's post (#9)? Scary or funny?

Well I do know that George Washington was a Mason.
As for the rest, it takes all kinds.

Read the poster's comment above the cartoon. He's not endorsing the cartoon.

If you have a question about the cartoon, please contact Jack Chick. Kenny is right, I put it up as a standard to illustrate the insanity of anti-Catholicism.

What do I make of Bokababe's post? I don't know enough about the Mason's, nor care about their history, to have an opinion.

The Rome Catholic Church occupies two similtaneous positions in the world -- one as a religion (Roman Catholicism) and one as a City State (the Vatican). The Pope is both head of a religion and a Head of State.

The religion and politics of Roman Catholicism and the Vatican are so intertwined that it is impossible to seperate one from another -- or talk about one seperate from another (unlike one might talk about Judaism and the politics of Israel as seperate issues). So Vatican politics are supposed to remain behind the "repected veil of the Church" and the Church can carry out what it considers "political neccessity" with impunity.

Nice position if you can get it, however it shouldn't come as a surprise that it compromises the very Faith it was designed to protect.
