From CourtTV:

Newsweek's Susannah Meadows and North Carolina attorney, Woody Webb, look at the issues as a judge holds a preliminary hearing:

Woody Webb: No, but the juries tend to be predominantly African-American. What is dangerous - and I've talked to other attorneys - is what will happen in the community if the trial takes place here, and the jury comes back with a not guilty verdict. I can't impress upon you too strongly how rife with tension, mostly racial, this community is, because of this case.

Good. The defense can use that insider legal opinion in its motion for change of venue. Maybe they should call him to testify, lol!

Two comments: 1.) I wonder about someone named "Woody"... and
2.) The reason juries in Durham tend to be predominantly African-American is because of the same reason many whites are omitted. It is difficult to get a "jury of one's peers" in a community like Durham.

(woody) "I can't impress upon you too strongly how rife with tension, mostly racial, this community is, because of this case"

No, Sir.....the status quo of the "case" is derived from pre-existing racial aspirations and opportunism of sufficient members of the community. This is a matter of the chicken and the egg that is easy to distinguish, IMO, and mr wiidy has chosen to express it such that it serves those opportunists.
