Two comments: 1.) I wonder about someone named "Woody"... and
2.) The reason juries in Durham tend to be predominantly African-American is because of the same reason many whites are omitted. It is difficult to get a "jury of one's peers" in a community like Durham.
I don't know about that but I do know that both prosecutors and defense attorneys don't want people who have much knowledge.
During jury selection they're always asking questions about your area of expertise. If the trial is about the internet, for example, then the last people who would be selected for jury duty would be people who know anything about the internet.
