DURHAM, N.C.One of three Duke University lacrosse players charged with rape wants the case resolved in time for the next school year, his lawyer said in court yesterday. But the judge warned he will not fast-track the proceedings.
The case "is not going to jump ahead of the line and be handled any differently," Superior Court Judge Ronald L. Stephens said at a hearing for sophomore Reade Seligmann.
After the brief hearing, District Attorney Mike Nifong said he does not expect any trial to begin before next year.

Nifong is going to claim these photos show here coming to the party? If so I don't see how this would help him at all. As we can see you would have her getting out of the car barefoot and cut. And in another photo of her walking into the house backwards without a shoe and passed out there without a shoe.
Does anyone have a link to the video of Kim's interview?
Well that is what he told Time, He said if they can show one image was altered then all images are discredited. What I believe is that the image he had when he said was the cropped one that did not show all of her leg.
I too am not optimistic about the ability of a jury to comprehend a technical argument. However, in this instance I believe the defense has the greatest comeback of all time: hand the expert a similar phone with a series of pictures on it and ask him to show how it is done without leaving a trace. Either it is easy to do - that is a bunch of college kids can do it - or it cannot be done without leaving a trace.
Sorry: The expert could definitely be a he or a she.
Is there any stoplight cameras in North Carolina? If so they might be electronic photos that the court does allow. I don't see how a judge doesn't allow them.
There are cameras at some intersections in NC to catch drivers going through red lights.
Couldn't the defense then say, "OK, tell us how." ? Then, when the expert starts into a very long and complicated series of data manipulations, the defense can say, "See, there is no way our clients would have had the knowledge and expertise to pull this off."
I enjoy your posts about your older brother, the Federal Judge. It is fascinating for someone like me, a legal dummy, to get a teeny glimpse into the thought process of a Judge.
thanks
Is Kim wearing the same earrings?
Is it likely that one of the SBI expert witnesses is a photography expert? If not, does that mean he will not have one?
I didn't say it wouldn't blow up in his face....
There are reportedly photos which clearly show the time on a watch. Nifong will need to get around that.
If Kim's car has that roof paint problem, there you go. It's her car. The watch will match the time stored in the photo data. The photos will hold up.
With any reasonable judge and jury, that is.....
"....prosecutors will argue, that photo actually shows the accuser being dropped off at the party, not leaving it,...."
TOO FUNNY, LOL!
Lets pretend that the guy (arm) "helping" her out of the car is pulling on her shoulder or hair as a "welcome" gesture, too. Geez!
He's obviously helping her to maintain her balance in the car, so as not to spill back out of the car.....I'm sure that a few seconds later he was placing her right leg/foot into the car in order to get the door shut with her completely inside and be done with the whole sorry episode......
but little did he know, that he should have called the cops to have her drunken --- removed from the property.
yes I know there are photos earlier that shows watches I was wondering if the watch in that photo was shown clearly since they said they were targeting this photo
Wow!! What a condescending post! Some FReepers are just average folks who want to follow a story. Sorry if we get in your way.
