Sounds like it is a must see then..even if the critics outside the church also pan it.. I remember they all hated Dogma and that was a pretty good movie..

Yea, got to go see it now. If the critics hated it, must be good.

Have no reason to go see it, really.

The movie sounds like such a dog, I'm pretty sure a boycott will be unnecessary.

The Reverend Thomas Euteneuer (EYE'-tun-ow-ur) said that if a movie treated Muhammad and Islam the way "The Da Vinci Code" treats Jesus and Christianity, "the whole world would be up in arms."
And you thought they were mad over the Danish cartoon!

Most churches around here seem to using this movie as an opportunity to discuss the Bible versus the DaVinca Code and try to use it as an evangelical opportunity.

Wasn't planning to see it as it is based on a book for cretins.
This film is apparently made by cretins as well.

Whooo-Hoooo! I say we all meet in the town square for a good ole fashioned book burning! I haven't been this excited since The Inquisition!

Calling for a boycott will backfire in this case. People who know that The DaVinci Code is about as historical as Monte Python's Search For The Holy Grail aren't going to go see it anyway. National organizations calling for a boycott simply give the movie even more publicity than it deserves.

Nothing like reverse snobism: if the critics hate it, it must be good. Seven billion flies can't be wrong. That's why you read this trash and can't tell the difference between 3rd grade level writing, as someone here characterised the D'uh Code, and genuine literature. If the intelligent people hate it, Joe Palooka says it's good!

This Just In!!
The producers of "The Da Vinci Code" are stoking the furnaces of a religious boycott. Said a spokesman, "The movie sucks so badly, we need the press just to get some butts in the theaters. I mean the true secret of the The Da Vinci Code is that Tom Hanks is trying to pass a stone for the entire film. We're hoping for a major boycott, which would be win-win for us."

The religion of peace calls for boycott; some other religion calls for beheading.
Ron Howard's response to critics:" don't watch it..." I wonder if he would be so insensitive to Islamic critics/fanatics and incredibly courageous despite threats of decapitation had the objectionable film been about Mohammed.
To: ND-Mystery
Given the reviews (which I thought would be glowing since the movie bashes the Catholic Church), this must be a real dog. I think the best thing to do is ignore it and it will go away.

Don't watch it. Go out and rent a copy of a film about the nature of truth (to put it clumsily.) Two titles come immediately to mind, but there are plenty of others: Chinatown, Rashomon.
