Great news. People may rent the thing, but they won't pay ten bucks apiece to see a stinker. The Catholic Church should ignore the film and not give it one more inch of publicity.

Ruh Roh! Looks like it will be a stinker! Bad news for Hanks and Howard and the Hype Machine.

Ick. I'll use that picture to scare away the wild animals. My AlGore photo is a bit weather-beaten and my JohnKerry photo didn't work too well...the poor creatures all fell into deep comas.

The critics:
'A stodgy, grim thing'...
'Hanks was a zombie'...
'Bloated'...

Variety - often considered a shill for the studios - has hammered the film with a pitiless review. I still think it will open big. But then...?

I haven't seen the movie and probably won't, but I must say one thing: looking at those droopy upper eyelids, I am pretty sure Hanks has NOT had a facelift.

20% on Rotten Tomatoes so far. Ow. Poseidon beat it at 29%.

I wondered why Hanks had such a weird appearance lately. Didn't realize he had a face lift, but that would explain it. Plus, what's up with his weird looking hair? Did he also get a hair transplant?

"The movie "The DaVinci Code", which is based upon a fictional story about how Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married and had a child, takes two and a half hours to finish, but only thirty minutes to put a number of the audience to sleep, only to be awakened by laughter, where laughter is not appropriate or planned.

According to reports some people walked out during the movie's closing minutes, and when the credits rolled there were catcalls, whistles and hisses.
"

No we know why Sony Pictures has been so secretive about this movie, and wouldn't even let the reviewers see it before...THE MOVIE REALLY SUCKS!!

So sorry Ron Howard.

I thought the book was dull and boring.

I never read the book - what's so funny at the end?

Didn't help that Ian whats his name, mentioned on a talk show thread that the Bible should be classified as fiction.

I'm still guessing a $50+M opening weekend (which if only 50M, that would be depressing) and $150 by the end of the summer.

(Okay, maybe by the end of the year.)

Disney/Pixar's "Cars" will have much better numbers, and a couple more summer films will most likely do better than DVC.

Just my predictions.

The tomatometer on rottentomatoes rates it as zero. This is the lowest rating I've ever seen there. Of course they only have 6 reviews in so far; when more reviewers get to it it will undoubtedly go up since some one will like it.
