"I agree completely, "To Kill A Mockingbird" was the best ever & nothing else is even close."
I'd say the Godfather is also in that league. In fact, the movie is better than Mario Puzo's (admittedly good - not great) novel.

I hope you're right, but I'm afraid that it's going to be the biggest movie of the year. It will be. Bad reviews at Cannes mean very little to the American film-going public. Star Wars, Jaws, and E.T. never won the Palme d'Or.

'zactly.
That is SUPREMELY awaited by myself and many here at work. Awaited to the point of a possible *ahem* "offsite meeting" if you catch my drift....

I'll use the $7.50 to $9.00 for a tank of gas for my lawn mower.

The main hook in the book for me wasn't the Jesus secrets or the thrilling action, but the semi-clever word puzzles, codes, anagrams, etc. They threw a new one at you every 2 chapters or so.
You can't do that stuff in a movie however. Without it, BOR-ing.

"As Bill Cosby's Noah character once said: Riiiiight!"
One of my all time favorite lines.
God: "Noah"
Noah: "Yes, Lord?"
God: "How long can you tread water?"

You noticed that too. The man IS getting really fat. His cheeks bulge and his hair is thinning pretty badly too. Really too bad cause I could overlook stuff like that if I like the person. Not anymore, he's definitely on my Hollywood shit list now

I don't think it will MAKE enough to be the biggest of the year.
I DO think it will be the most HYPED UP movie of the year for FREE by the MSM. (ala- Brokeback Mountain last year) That will give it staying power in the press.

From the reaction of the audience, you'd think they revealed the last decendent to be President George W. Bush. Or Prince Charles. Should we get a pool going?
Maybe it's Keanu.

MI3 is making plenty of money, it's on the same pace as MI1 and MI2, if they'd have kept the budget around $100 mil like the first two instead of jumping to $150 mil nobody would even be questioning it's box office performance.

I don't think it will MAKE enough to be the biggest of the year. Actually, I think Oliver Stone's World Trade Center could be the biggest film of the year.
Go here for a link to the trailer and prepare to be surprised.

To be fair, Cannes critics cheered and applauded the wretched mess "Elephant" in 2003. Cannes has the sensibilities of Al Qaeda.
To: Reaganesque
The leftist media will give this glowing reviews and fool a lot of people.
However, they won't be able to make it an interesting movie.
All the leftist stars will have to come out in force and praise the movie up and down.
Still, it will flop.
heh heh heh

C'mon, you know if Howard had added a scene with the Apostles in drag doing the can-can or religious visiting bathhouses it would have been hailed as a 'cutting edge' drama 'full of insight into our religion obessesed age, blah, blah, blah'.
It wasn't anit-Christian enough for the pervs and teachers of evil.
To: Thom Pain
The Godfather, The Exorcist and In Cold Blood aren't bad.
